Important: some items above are broad categories, while others are specific catalyst technologies or catalyst families. They aren't 100 completely independent chemical types.

For your automotive-additives business, the most relevant distinction is that fuel additives are not necessarily catalysts. An octane booster, injector cleaner, or detergent additive can modify fuel properties or clean the fuel system without being a catalyst. A catalytic converter, by contrast, uses catalysts to accelerate exhaust reactions.
